Naming
This site is named Thayneish Conversations in the hope that it will be a sort of conversation.
First year communication students learn the communication model,
sender => receiver => feedback
or some such.
So, this conversation is a little bit like that .
I am the sender.
Basically.
What I mean is that this site will have things I put here. But not always things only I say or orginated by me.
I post essays that were written by members of the family. My wife, Denise, primarily, but there is room for others in the the Thayneish world to have their words or images put here.
Are you Receiving?
The receiver is more complex (not that I am simple) and maybe more basic.
Some writers do things like write their stories to their children or relatives, Lewis Carrol or JRR Tolkien come to mind.
Some people create content (let's call it that, shall we?) for members of their community or affiliates in their club or some other describer of their Tribe that provides for a variety of assumptions and affiliations and opinions being taken as given. Examples are too varied to bother with one or another.
Some consider their receivers people that need to be persuaded or converted or shamed. Consider politics.
For me, I will generally consider that you are a person who knows me or about me a little bit. But maybe there is a little more to reveal about me or whatever the topic is. I probably won't tell you exactly what I think - but maybe something less jumbled, weird and jaded.
I fancy sometimes that great-neices and great-nephews or other progeny of the Thayne family might read this.
Sometimes I've been told that I have a unique view of things . Probably not particularly. But if my point of view is slightly different, so be it.
What about feedback?
If you register you may be provided an opportunity to comment on a page, article or blog. You can do that. See the comment gracefully section of the HomePage.
In any case, if you have something to say, you can share with me, and depending on moderation, others that read this stuff may see it also. If you really want to be a contributor, you can Contact me.
What to follow?
Growth and figuring things out.
I like the idea of wiki, and for now I'm using Tiki Wiki, it has some interesting content management features. See the overview.
If you want to say more to me, go ahead and register , log in and comment.
