What is Thayneish?

I'm sure you've heard of the British, the Irish and many other "ish's"
If you're a little hungry, you might be peckish.
If you are not particularly chilled, you might be cold-ish.
So, ish tends to be a suffix indicating things "around, related to, or associated with" whatever noun is being modified.

Thayne is a family name.
Thayneish is about Thaynes, or at least the bunch that I am aware of and linked to. But not just people named Thayne, really more like the network of people that surround Denise and I.

There are a variety of pages there, created differently than a wiki.

Wiki's are cool.
They should let you create lots of linked pages, and connected content that would be more difficult or slower to build if you are using normal website tools.
Wiki means fast and there are some fast ways that things happen on this site. But there are also a lot of features that I'm figuring out here. and maybe here for photos.

Navigation on the left side of your screen is available behind the Grey Arrow Icon. On the right side of the screen, there is also a log of where you've been.

Though this site is not principally a blog, it can contain blog entries. Again, as an experiment, a blog start has been made.

Structures View
Structures are groups of pages that follow a sort of hierarchy.
The idea behnid strucutres takes the wiki model a little further. Rather than just links within pages to take you to interesting places, there is a navigation that can lead you back around or through - sort of like chapters in a book. You can look at the docs for this or just start with one of the structures to experiment.

About this site

This is a non-commercial personal web site. A commentary and essay compilation from my own personal point of view. I am likely to refer to products, books, essays etc. of others.

This is a sort of wikithaynia that I'm experimenting with and learning about.
- I have little experience with other wiki systems, namely Atlassian Confluence . I am not running an instance of that. Instead I have this.

Tiki wiki is a Content Management, web server-installed system. It's an open source app that takes the wiki page (what you're looking at here) and provides other things to it. Structures, for example. As you look at the navigation you'll see some other sections.

As I note, this is still experimental.

Articles, galleries, blogs and such are probably barely used at this piont.

Comment gracefully

Finally, you may comment on content that you see - if you are not making commercial comments, or spamming or if I don't like you.
- They are moderated.
User account requirements exist for much of the navigation and activity. This means that I will consider giving you a log in account if you ask me.
