New Surgery Plans

After the May procedure did not really improve Denise’s condition, we are now going to pursue surgery to improve Denise’s digestion.

The surgery is a partial gastrectomy where a part of Denise’s stomach will be removed and then reattached in a different way.

The goal is to deal with Denise’s unusually long stomach which combined with gastroperesis causes food to ‘just get stuck’,  it causes her great pain, and is implicated in her nutritional lack.

Our hope is that her stomach will be able to empty better and help her nutrition.

After the surgery, she’ll have to have a feeding tube (J-tube) as her source of nutrition for a while.

‘Full’ Recovery can take six or more months.

Thanks for your prayers.
