The NG tube it goes into your body through the nose. Thus the “N” for nasal.
The tube runs through your nose, down the back of your throat, down your esophagus into the stomach.
It can be used to put fluids into your stomach or suck stuff out (pumping the stomach).
For Denise in her March stay, it was used to remove the contents that had built up on her stomach to prevent vomiting and to relieve pressure of stomach fluids building up while the interesting were ‘uncoordinated’.

The NG tube for suction can be very uncomfortable. It’s hard to put in, but somewhat easier to take out.
