Journey Home
Denise spent a full week in hospital. Her hospital stay was from Monday night to Monday a week later. She’s at home and recovering. (This post is now just over three weeks since the surgery, and two weeks and a few days at home.) The challenges remain – pain from major surgery is basically constant,…
Surgery Recovery
The partial gastrectomy is completed, now it is time to recover. So far, this event had been peaceful and calm. Not without challenges, but, the entire team has been helpful, and sensitive to where Denise is, physically and emotionally. Many are praying and sending words of encouragement. Since the surgery, Denise experienced pain and discomfort,…
New Surgery Plans
After the May procedure did not really improve Denise’s condition, we are now going to pursue surgery to improve Denise’s digestion. Traveling milestone
Denise and I had an opportunity to make a trip last weekend. (July 20th) In the past, a four hour drive was not a big deal. This trip gave us a moment’s pause. Nonetheless, we made the trip to the beach! No swimming in the ocean, of course. But it was lovely to spent some…
Anyone that has been chronically or even acutely worn out knows that there is something of a hurtle to overcome in making it to events that perviously had been easy.
Escape part two
3/30 Denise was released from the hospital this afternoon and came home. She is still having trouble getting enough water and formula, and often feels unwell. Nonetheless she is determined to get well and strong.
