Scope and Botox day

As of May 31, Denise is home and starting to recover from the anesthesia.
These sorts of things wear her out.  And it seems to take some time to feel normal again.  (Normal?)

Updates by the time.  Last updated 9:45pm 5/29/20

  • 7 am. Leave Huntersville for Charleston
  • 11 am. Arrive in Charleston to the MUSC to check in .
  • 12:30 am. Prep.
  • Met with the anesthesiologist, got the IV .  Word was that pharmacy doesn’t have Botox. But they came through with some just in time.
  • 1:45 wheeled to the op room .
  • 2:30 pm. Done with the procedure!
  •  A little later the doc said that they had dinner the Botox injection and expanded the pylorus to try for some relief.
  • 4:00 pm.  Left the hospital, drove around Charleston on the way out.
  • 9:45 pm. Home.
Here’s the update for Denise !
It’s like jiffy lube!  It went  pretty quick!
She was out in less than an hour and aside from coughing and a little dizziness she seems okay from the procedure. (Still, it was uncomfortable and no fun.)
Doc says that they injected the Botox and then used a balloon to expand the pylorus.
This is to help her stomach to empty properly.  If it helps that should be evident in a few days and could last from two to six months.
The doc also confirmed that Denise’s stomach is really long!   Significant?
Thanks for your prayers
